If you want to take up Drag Racing, you are in for an experience like nothing else you will ever encounter, short of flying a jet fighter plane. Our gas dragsters accelerate like lightning with a force that will push you well back into the cockpit , to exhilarating speeds that can cover a quarter of a mile in 8 or 9 seconds. California Drag Racing School will give you all the training you need to fulfill your dream. With your natural talent and our professional instruction, you will soon be a pilot that can take the car to its limits.You may elect one of our many Gas Dragster classes - Super Comp. 8.90 index, Competition Eliminator, ET class, as well as Super Pro Dragster. In some instances, you can lisence in more than one class during your days at our school.

BASIC COURSE GAS DRAGSTER

DAY 1 First, you will receive classroom instruction. Then there's an inspection of the track and it's facilities. Shortly after, you'll be introduced to the cars, driving suits, helmets and will learn some of the basics of piloting. After lunch you will be taken to the cars and will begin training on starting line, lights, burn outs, launches, etc. DAY 2 We start with classroom instruction. Once more in the car, you will do longer and longer runs down the track. You will also help as crew member and receive instruction on proper handling. Once our instructors feel you are ready, and only then, you will be allowed to perform Full Pass. We want to stress the point that only the students that show good progress will be allowed to go beyond the short runs that make up the bulk of the class, into a Full Pass. CARS All the cars are NHRA Tech Safe cars maintained by top professional racing mechanics. The gas dragsters are 427 and 454 cubic inch Chevrolet engines and reach speeds over 150 M.P.H in 8 seconds. Jr. Dragsters have the required Briggs & Stratton engine. To insure proper safety required by the NHRA, our students are fitted in a 3-layer fire retardant suit and other state-of-the-art safety equipment. Gas & Alcohol DragsterSuper Gas/Alcohol Funny Car Program LICENSE After receiving your Certificate of Accomplishment of the Basic 2 Day Course, you may want to apply for a NHRA License. This is not a license given to novices, due to the extreme fast speeds of qualifying runs. Therefore your driving skills will be carefully reviewed and you may well require additional instruction in top speed techniques. Applications will be accepted at the sole discretion of the chief instructor and his crew. NHRA Standings require that you make 6 passes on two separate days and your runs must be witnessed by Track Manager and other NHRA licensed drivers.
